Dr Stefan Abela

BChD, MFDS, RCS Eng, MSc, MORTH RCS Ed, AHEA, GCAP, FDS ORTH RCS Ed

Founded and managed by Dr. Stefan Abela and focuses exclusively and solely on orthodontic treatment on both developing and growing patients as well as adults.

Dr Stefan Abela is a Registered Specialist in Orthodontics. Dr Stefan is also a Consultant in Orthodontics and an International speaker and has received awards for winning research projects.

Dr Specialises and has greater interest in invisible teeth straightening.

To date he has obtained the following Qualifications: BChD, MFDS RCS Eng, MSc, MOrth RCS Ed, GCAP, AHEA, FDS Orth RCS Ed.

Dr Stefan has a vast knowledge and experience in orthodontics. He has successfully treated over a 2000 cases. Dr Stefan also teaches Invisalign skills to dentists in the training programme aspiring to become specialists in this field.

Dr Stefan is a Platinum provider for Invisalign, highlighting his expertise and clinical knowledge in treating all kinds of bites and jaw problems with Invisalign.

He has published multiple international peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.
Dr Stefan pays great attention to detail and loves to work together with patients to deliver treatments to the highest standard.

Mr Andrew Sidebottom

I have been an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery consultant in Nottingham (Queens Medical Centre) since 2001 having completed higher specialist training (CCST) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and gained the gold medal for the exit FRCS in 2000

I am on the specialist list for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and also on the Specialist list for Oral Surgery. I have both dental and medical degrees and dual fellowships of the Royal College of surgeons.

I have focused my consultant career on developing a practice which specialises in TMJ pain management and Facial Deformity and have a large tertiary referral practice in this area. I have been the NICE (2009, 2014) and NHS England adviser for TMJ replacement, BAOMS Clinical Lead (2012-2017) for TMJ and associate editor of BJOMS (2009-2019).

I have over 80 publications and 28 book chapters including the 42 edition of Grays Anatomy and have carried out the most TMJ replacement surgeries in Europe.

Private Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

I work at BMI Park Hospital (2001-date) and Spire Nottingham Hospital (2017-date) delivering oral and maxillofacial surgery services with specialist interest in TMJ and facial deformity/orthognathic surgery.

Dental Implants

I am fully conversant with primary placement of dental implants and the provision of pre-prosthetic bone and soft tissue surgery to both augment the ridge and fill the facial sinuses using autogenous and artificial bone. I am happy to provide both a supportive surgery role in provision of adequate bone foundation or to place the implants with the dental practitioner providing the restorative solution.

Facial Cosmetic Surgery

I have been trained in facial cosmetic surgery and carry this out on a private basis. This links well with my facial deformity surgery as the latter provides a much clearer insight into the underlying bony architectural changes which can be made without altering the overlying skin. My specialisation in facial surgery and anatomy provides a unique insight into the appropriate management of the subtle changes which are required to give excellent cosmetic outcomes.

I have been working with Dr Abella for about 4.5 years using insivalign He has been absolutely amazing throughlut the whole process - I couldn't have asked for a better dentist I am a perfectionist so where as most people would have finished their treatment within a year or so I kept pushing for more and more refinements. Dr Abella was always happy to oblige and did so in a warm and welcoming manner Overall I am beyond happy with my experience and I would recommend him and his specialties to absolutely everyone I see! I had Invisalign treatment with Dr Stefan and was very satisfied with the process and the result. Prior to enquiring with them I had gone to another dentist who had advised I'd need to have 2 healthy teeth extracted in addition to my wisdom teeth, but Dr Stefan told me only extracting the upper wisdom teeth would be sufficient. Now that the treatment has ended I'm happy to say he was right and my teeth are now perfectly straight. Great no-nonsense service. 👍

It has been a pleasure to be treated by Dr Stefan, who at each of our meetings for at least a year could have declared my treatment complete if he was not so determined to get my smile as close to perfect as it could be (needless to say that this additional treatment was at no extra charge and was included within the invisalign package).
